What can I say? I absolutely adore the Fourth of July patch. How can you not love a firecracker? It's another one that was frequently rubbed, but the corduroy held up well.
Ruth Lord, my grandmother, created this quilt in 1971 at her home in Ipswich, Massachusetts. It was the quilt that comforted my brother and me when we were sick, that we huddled under on cold nights. Nana Lord restored a few patches and re-backed it sometime in the late '80s, early '90s (she would have been in her 80s!) but it still needs a lot of work. Can this quilt be saved?
